This dataset presents higher education and reorientation wishes, as well as institution responses for each non-apprenticeship program at the end of the Parcoursup platform’s 2024 assignment process (from January 15 to September 10, 2025). The data is sourced from the Parcoursup 2025 platform and covers the entire campaign up to September 10, 2025. It is available as a downloadable database and as an interactive data visualization ("dataviz").
This dataset is built from Parcoursup 2025 campaign data. The Parcoursup platform is the national pre-registration system established by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, enabling students to apply for admission to higher education programs.
It includes all candidates who submitted at least one validated wish during the main phase (PP) and/or complementary phase (PC), covering 14,252 non-apprenticeship programs. It encompasses 1,015,200 candidates, with a subset focusing on the 652,800 new baccalaureate holders among them (including those registered with the Agency for French Education Abroad). New baccalaureate holders are students enrolled in their final year of French secondary education (general, vocational, or technological tracks) for the 2024-2025 academic year.
The dataset is complemented by a "dataviz" tool that visually represents key indicators. For each program, it displays:
- Admission capacity,
- Number of wishes submitted by candidates,
- Number of admission offers made by the institution,
- Number of candidates who accepted these offers throughout the procedure,
- Rank of the last candidate called during the main phase.
These indicators are supplemented by a graph showing the pace at which candidates who enrolled in a program received an offer. Additionally, there is a focus on the profile of new baccalaureate holders who accepted an admission offer, including:
- Baccalaureate series,
- Baccalaureate honors (with "Very Good" honors disaggregated),
- Secondary education scholarship recipients,
- Geographic origin.
This dataviz serves as a complementary tool for high school students applying through Parcoursup, helping them identify key characteristics of each program, such as the profiles of admitted students and the timeline of offers received during the procedure.
The information is organized by institution and program:
- Institution name and UAI number,
- Region, academy, and department of the institution,
- Program name (aggregated and detailed), and whether it is selective or non-selective,
- Number of available places (admission capacity),
- Number of wishes received, broken down by gender and baccalaureate series,
- Number of wishes ranked by the institution, by baccalaureate series,
- Number of admission offers made, by baccalaureate series,
- Number of admission offers made at key dates in the Parcoursup campaign and subsequently accepted,
- Number of admitted students, by gender, baccalaureate series, and honors obtained,
- Rank of the last candidate called in their group during the main phase,
- Number of secondary and higher education scholarship recipients among final-year high school students and reorienting students,
- Number of admitted students in BTS or CPGE programs from their original high school (i.e., where they were enrolled in their final year).
Since 2021, the "Very Good" honors category has been split into two variables:
- "Very Good (without congratulations)" (average between 16 and 18),
- "Very Good with jury congratulations" (average above 18).
Additionally, the number of call groups has been reduced to three; this rank is displayed on the Parcoursup map and may exceed the number of ranked candidates for programs using shared call lists (identified by the "list_com" variable).
As in previous years, data from the parcoursup.fr mapping tool has been included. Two additional indicators are provided for all candidates for each program at the end of the file:
- 2025 Access Rate: The ratio of candidates whose rank is equal to or better than the rank of the last candidate called in their group to the total number of candidates who validated a wish for the program during the main phase (excluding GDD – a phase redistributing vacant spots to new baccalaureate holders without offers). This rate accounts for all candidates who confirmed at least one wish in the main phase (final-year students, reorienting students, and those resuming studies). A 100% rate means no candidate was left without an offer in this program at the end of the main phase (excluding GDD). Note that some candidates may have declined the offer or chosen another program.
- Distribution by baccalaureate type: Breakdown of candidates eligible to receive an offer during the main phase in 2025, by baccalaureate type, whose rank is equal to or better than the rank of the last candidate called in their group (excluding GDD).
Only candidates enrolled in France or holding European nationality are included in the calculation of these two indicators.
Important: These two indicators cannot be recalculated from the open data provided.
Correction (January 16, 2025): Due to a technical issue, certain variables in the initial dataset version contained errors, which have now been corrected:
- Number of candidates who applied for boarding,
- Number of candidates ranked by the institution for boarding (CPGE),
- Number of candidates ranked by the institution for non-boarding (CPGE),
- Number of admitted candidates in boarding.
The dataset allows for the observation of demand and satisfaction for each program and institution on Parcoursup, as well as the profiles of candidates and admitted students at the end of the assignment process.
Parcoursup is the national online portal for pre-registration in higher education. It is intended for anyone wishing to enroll in the first year of higher education, primarily new baccalaureate holders, reorienting students, and international students. Candidates must submit and confirm wishes to receive an assignment. In the main phase, a candidate can make up to 10 non-prioritized wishes. For some programs, wishes can be multiple: each multiple wish consists of sub-wishes corresponding to specific programs at different institutions (e.g., engineering or business schools participating in national competitions).
